Although Garbology is a fairly young company, the directors Jason Allum and Mike Hayward have a wealth of experience gained from a combination of over 50 years in the Mushroom industry, where they are well known both in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Jason has worked in the mushroom formany years,he has designed and engineered growing rooms, compost prepration tunnels and climate control systems from planning to completion.
 In 1993 Jason formed his own company, Growing Designs Limited,  which specialises in growing rooms, equipment and compost systems for Mushroom growers. The company also represents the Christiaen’s Group.

Mike started in the Mushroom composting industry in 1968. He was a director of Blue Prince Mushrooms and was responsible for the compost production of 1200 tonnes per week for the Blue Prince group. At the composting facility he helped set up and operate the first phase 1 mushroom compost tunnel system in the UK. This was used as a trial unit, 150 tonne capacity, to help design the main composting facility for Blue Prince. the trial unit was then used in a number of trials with Entrust funding, using both single and double ended Tunnels, to prove that these Tunnels can be used for Green-waste, Sewage sludge, MSW and that the temperature profile will comply with the ABPR.
